About the event
We're on a mission to build belonging through song.
Join us for an evening of participatory music where the audience becomes the choir!
Cascadia Folk Choir is an all-inclusive, beginner-friendly adult community choir & musical practice space inspired by the community singing & song circle movement. We learn (and write!) "emergent folk" repertoire (i.e. circle songs) in a low-pressure, supportive environment that prioritizes playfulness over perfection while also building real musical skills.
Led by infectiously enthusiastic director Alexa Lux and featuring a stellar cast of some of Portland's finest musicians, this all-ages event invites you to learn simple, beautiful songs by ear and experience the joy of singing in community—no experience required. Whether you’ve sung your whole life or haven’t used your voice in years; you are welcome here.
🧑🧑🧒 This is a family-friendly event! Children under 12 get in free, no ticket reservation required. Kiddos over 12 require a regular ticket from any tier.
A good time for a good cause
Cascadia Folk Choir is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization. Your tax-deductible contribution at any tier supports our programming, helps us pay local musicians, and keeps this work accessible to all.
